Pinebear are usually very shy and fierce mothers. They have quills on them which are sought after for their various uses. In spring and summer it's quills have healing substances in the hollow centers. Fall and winter that substance turns sour and becomes very very poisonous. When the warmer weather returns it sheds the old quills and new ones sprout. It takes roughly 1 week so they don't often wander far from home during that time. There fur also changes in these times from brownish red to white grey. They are hunted for their quills which makes them weary of others though it is possible to befriend one. If you save it's life or help it or it's young that animal is loyal to them for life.
